Mrs. Harland
Dies Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. Lu Annie Harland, 76, widow of the late C. B. Harland, pioneer Knott community farmer, are to be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Christ at 14th and Main. Lawrence Smith, Abilene Christian College, Abilene, and T. H. Tarbelt, of West Highway 80 Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial is to be in City Cemetery with River Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harland, who was born on Oct. 5, 1884, in Cherokee, Ala., died in a local hospital Thursday evening. She had been ill for three years and seriously ill for a year. She made her home in Big Spring at 413 Dallas.
Mr. Harland died in July, 1946.
Survivors include three sons, Delbert Harland and Grady Harland of Big Spring; J. E. Harland, Cameron, Okla.; seven daughters, Mrs. Mildred Free, Earth, Mrs. Barnie Trout, Slaton, Mrs. Cleo West, Donna, Mrs. Claudia Fryar, Big Spring, Mrs. Imogene Fryar, Knott, Mrs. Hazel Allred, Knott, Mrs. Nelda Joe Fuller, Lubbock; one brother, Barnie Malone, Seymour; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Holmes, Santa Ana, Calif., and Mrs. Jonah Gist, Seymour. There are 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Allred, Henry Samples, Tom Castle, J. B. Shockley, Walker Reed, Opal Laws, Charlie Shanks, and J. D. Kendrick.
