Jasper Newton Binkley was the son of Frederick Binkley and Adeline Shackleford. He was born in Davidson County, Tennessee, where he married Amanda J.P. Yarbrough on 21 March 1849. They had one child, Cordelia, born 1850. After Amanda's death in 1853, Jasper married Cornelia Snell on 25 July 1854 in Davidson County. Their children were Lou, born and died between 1854 and 1860 in Tennessee; James Evans, born 24 Jan. 1858, Tennessee, died 7 Nov. 1929, Hall County, Texas; William A., born 13 Feb. 1861, Texas, died 14 Jan. 1894, Texas; Frederick S., born 26 May 1866 in Texas, died 14 June 1878, Texas. Cornelia died on 16 Sept. 1869 in Colorado County, Texas. Jasper married third Cornelia Cecilia Harvey, the widow of John T. Moore, on 6 Dec. 1871 in Grimes County, Texas.
