John M. "Bop" Trout, 95 of Meriden, KS., died at his home Friday, September 2, 2011. He was born December 7, 1915 in Neosha Falls, KS., the son of John James and Bessie Lucinda Stephens Trout. He graduated from the Neosha Falls High School in Neosha Falls, KS. He worked as a farmer, until he moved to Casper, WY., where he worked for Standard Oil as a machinist and equipment operator, until he retired in 1971, and moved to Meriden, KS. He then worked in carpentry and enjoyed gardening. He married Wanda Mae Walter on July 24, 1937. She preceded him in death in September 1989. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley A. Harris, of Meriden, five grandchildren,11 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, John "Randy" Trout, one daughter, Winifred Osborne, and one granddaughter, Susan D. Peach. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at the Meriden Cemetery, in Meriden, KS.
