AARON GATTON, for many years a resident of Bellville, succumbed to the infirmities of age Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, death occurring at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sadie Grice. The deceased was 77 years old and his death was the climax of an illness of 16 years.
Mr. Gatton was born near Butler and had lived practically all his life in and around Bellville. He was very widely known and respected. For fourteen years he had been a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two sons, Patterson T. Gatton of Mansfield and James A. Gatton of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Grice and Miss Nannie Gatton of Bellville, and six grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the home, and will be presided over by Rev. J.R. Frye of the Evangelical Church. Interment in Bellville Cemetery.
