Mr. Gatton was born near Butler and had lived practically all his life in and around Bellville. He was very widely known and respected. For fourteen years he had been a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two sons, Patterson T. Gatton of Mansfield and James A. Gatton of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Grice and Miss Nannie Gatton of Bellville, and six grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the home, and will be presided over by Rev. J.R. Frye of the Evangelical Church. Interment in Bellville Cemetery.
