Mr. Brown, the oldest son of late Major W. L. Brown and Mrs. Sadie J. Brown, was born in Kingman, where he lived for a number of years.
For the past seven years he had been a resident of this city, working at the park under his father, Major Brown, who was park commissioner. Later he was a guard at the state reformatory, and at the time of his death had been re-employed in the park service.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Brown; eight children, Mrs. Joe Alexander, Council Grove, Mrs. James Clough Wood, Salem Arkansas; Mrs. Frank Griffith, Canton, Wm. Brown, Kingman; Betty Jean Pyle, Norwich; Henry, Frances and Edward of the home address; also three step-children, Alice, Harold, and Jack, who live with their mother; also by his mother Mrs. Sadie j. Brown, 425 West 11th; his brother, Harlow B. Brown, 1511 North Monroe; and his sister, Mrs. Bert Walter of Wichita.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Friesen Funeral Parlors with the Rev. Harry T. Scherer of the First Presbyterian Church in charge. Burial was in the family lot in the Kingman Cemetery, and the Kingman Odd Fellows Lodge had short services at the grave. A large gathering of friends from Kingman attended the burial services.
