Orangeburg - Robert Cecil Anderson Sr., 86, of 2475 Charleston Highway, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with Pastor John Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Orangeburg. Mr. Anderson was born Nov. 15, 1917, in Holly Hill, a son of the late Oliver R. Anderson and the late Ermine Shuler Anderson. He was employed by Carolina Veneer Company as Lathe Operation and Superintendent. He was retired from Orangeburg Regional Hospital in Maintenance Engineering. He was a member of Orangeburg Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph A. Anderson and Raymond L. Anderson, both of Orangeburg. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Thomas Anderson, of Orangeburg; two daughters, Mrs. Doris A. Lamb, of Randleman, N.C., Linda Jean A. Yongue, of Mount Pleasant, N.C.; two sons, Robert C. Anderson Jr., of Rocky Point, N.C., James A. Anderson, of Alabama; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Oliver L. Anderson, of Eutawville, James C. Anderson, of Florence, Charles W. Anderson of Sonora, Calif. Friends may call at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Orangeburg Lutheran Church, 610 Ellis NE, Orangeburg SC 29115.
