Death of a Nonagenarian
Mrs. Polly Turney died Sunday, September 8th, 1907, aged 93 years.
She was the widow of Andrew Turney, who preceded her to the spirit world 20 years ago. She was the mother of Mrs. Patrick Mimna, who departed this life 10 years ago. For several years after the death of Mrs. Mimna she had the care of the family of five children, until eighteen months ago, when blindness and frailty made her the care of those whom she had so tenderly nourished. She was a member of the Augustine family of Addison Township, and is survived by only one brother, considerably younger, who resides in the west.
Services were held at her late home on Salisbury Street in Meyersdale, Monday evening, at 8 o'clock, conducted by the Reverend C. P. McLaughlin. On the following morning she was carried to the old burying ground of St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Unamis, where the Reverend Moses Grossman, the Pastor, officiated.
