Charles W. Slack
Dies After a Prolonged Illness of Nervous Prostration

Mr. Charles W. Slack died Wednesday morning at his home on Locust Street of nervous prostration. He had been for several years a storekeeper in the revenue service and was taken ill about two months ago while on duty in Grayson county. He returned home a few weeks ago and gradually sank until the end.

Mr. Slack came to Owensboro about ten years ago from Elizabethtown. He was forty-three years old and leaves a wife, five sons and one daughter. The sons are Winfield, Robert, Wallace, George and Charles, and the daughter Ella. He was a brother of Hon. R.W. Slack, formerly of this city, but now of Louisville, and also of Messrs. John and James Slack of Louisville, and Middleton Slack of Cincinnati, and of Mrs. James Montgomery of Elizabethtown, and Mrs. O'Bryan of Louisville. He was a genial, warm-hearted man, a devoted husband and father and had many friends.

The funeral will take place at 9:30 Friday morning at St. Stephen's church and the internment will be at Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. James Slack was with his brother at the time of his death. Hon. R. W Slack, Mrs. Montgomery and Mrs. O'Bryan arrived last night, as did also Mrs. Miller and Miss Payne of Elizabethtown, sisters of Mrs. Slack, to attend the funeral. Messrs.
