Survived by his wife, the former Opal Harper; two sons, James Franklin Bowles,
Oberlin, and Robert Bond Bowles, Alexandria; five grandchildren; his parents, J. J.
Bowles, Ethel, La., and Mrs. E. N. Bowles, Baton Rouge; two brothers, W. T. Bowles,
Baton Rouge, and David U. Bowles of Clinton; five sisters, Mrs. W. A. Cooper, Baton
Rouge, Miss Mary D. Bowles, Centreville, Miss., Mrs. L. M. Sawyer, Oil City, La.,
Mrs. E. T. Babin, Norco, and Mrs. I. J. Becnel, New Orleans.
Funeral services at the Oberlin Methodist Church, Thursday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m.
Burial in the Oberlin Cemetery. Ardoin and Hargrove of Oakdale in charge of
arrangements.
