HICKOK - Charles Earl Hickok, son of Robert and Olive Hickok, was born May 27, 1898, in Mercer County, Ill., and died May 13, 1967, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 13 days.
He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of four. The family made their home near Humeston, where he grew to manhood.
He was united in marriage to Verna Rash on October 3, 1917. Mr. and Mrs. Hickok established their home near Derby, where they lived until he entered barber college. To this union were born two children: Harry Hickok of Waterloo, and Eva Atkinson of Chariton.
He practiced his profession in Missouri and Iowa, spending the last 30 years in Lamoni and Chariton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Verna, his two children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Loyd Hickok of Chariton, a sister, Mae Airy of Osceola, many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was a kind and loving husband and father, and was loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Paul C. Ellis at 1 p.m., May 16, at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Humeston Cemetery.
