Geraldine "Geri" Lowery Barley Titus, 67, of Newport, died Aug. 27, 2011, at home.
She was born on December 10, 1943 in Maxton, NC to William Berry Lowery and Berlie Elizabeth Strickland Lowery. A wonderful mother and friend, she loved and cared for her family. Mrs. Titus was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church where she served as an AWANA instructor and Sunday school teacher. She was an avid cook.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, the Rev. Ken E. Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Leland Leroy Titus, daughter, Belinda Barley, sisters, Lela Mae Lowery and Elvia Lee Lowery, brothers, James Gurney Lowery and William Verney Lowery, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Kelly Barley of Newport; sisters, Annie Elizabeth Brooks of Lumberton and Ruthie Neal Rexrode of Newport; a brother, Archie Clayton Lowery of Newport; and four grandchildren.
