Lucille Babbitt, age 82, of Granby, Missouri was called to heaven on Friday, August 26, 2011 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Lucille began her journey on February 22, 1929 in New Mexico one of four children born to the late William and Jessie (Carmen) Mullins. She married the love of her life, Perry Lee Babbitt on October 12, 1962. Lucille was a Certified Nurses Aide at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas, California for 30 years retiring in 1989 when her and Lee moved to Anderson, Missouri. She had moved to Granby, Missouri four years ago to be closer with her family because of her illness. Lucille enjoyed fishing with her husband; was an avid reader and an excellent cook. She loved to crochet and won several ribbons to include a first place ribbon from the McDonald County Fair. Lucille cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Perry Lee Babbitt on December 11, 1995; a son, David Isaac Leverett; a daughter, Carolyn Bridgeman; a granddaughter, Susan Armstrong; two brothers, Pat McClintock Mullins and George William Mullins.

Lucille is survived by her three children, John Russell Brooks and wife, Colleen of Seneca, Missouri, Virgil William Brooks of Granby; Missouri; a daughter, Roseanna Marie Nicholson and husband, John of Granby, Missouri; a sister, Audrey Hamm and husband, John of Goodman, Missouri; five grandchildren, Waylon Rolls, Sage Crane, Matt Shear, Lee Freisner and Amy Brooks; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, along with many other family, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Lucille's loving and caring nature.
