Myrtle B. Tate, 93, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health Systems, Owensboro, Kentucky.

She was born April 19, 1918, in Breckinridge County, Kentucky daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Stiles) Kellems. She was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Tate; son, Donald Tate; brother, Herman Kellems; sisters, Irene Hammack and Stella Ruth Kellems, in infancy, and great granddaughter Kassandra Tate.

Myrtle attended Seventh Street Baptist Church, was a member of Tobinsport Home Ec Club, and a 4-H leader for 25 years. She enjoyed cooking, sitting on her porch, gardening and enjoyed watching NASCAR with her grandson, Greg.

She is survived by sisters, Thelma Wagner and Helen York; grandsons; Greg and Kevin Tate, great granddaughters, Amber and Courtney Tate; and a great-great grandson; Mason Foster.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association or Tobinsport Cemetery Association.
