Chapel services for Barney Francis of Fredericktown were held Thursday, April 22 at Berry-Hansmann Funeral Home with the Rev. James Barker officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Wagganer, Randy Matthews, Bobby Francis, Ronald Francis, Buzz Jordan, Terry Robinson, Fred Francis and Ernie Robinson.
Mr. Francis, a retired miner with St. Joe Lead Co., died Tuesday, April 20 at the age of 60. He was born March 23, 1922 in Madison County to the late William "Billy" and Millie (Arnett) Francis. He married the former Sylvia Robinson who survives.
Other suvivors include four sons, Barney William Francis, David Francis and Henry Francis, all of Fredericktown and Jesse Francis of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, June Jilly of Farmington, Joyce Hicks of Jefferson City and Joan LaChance of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five brothers Charley Francis of Fredericktown, Robert Francis and Lloyd Francis, both of Viburnum, Henry Francis of Valley Mines and Lige Francis; three sisters, Ruby Matthews of Fredericktown, Lillie Pulliam of Farmington and Ollie Walker of DeSoto and 13 grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Francis in death were his parents; two brothers, Clarence and Chester Francis and a sister, Opal Jordan.
Mr. Francis was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Leadington.
