Rita García, age 75, a lifelong resident of New Mexico and resident of Bernalillo, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2000.
Rita is survived by her children, Ernest (J.A.) García and his wife, Barbara of Bernalillo, Denise García and his friend, Geri of Albuquerque, Louise García-Sánchez and her husband, Pat of Bernalillo and Steven García and his wife, Denise of Rumford, ME, granddaughters, Elaina, María Rita, Brianna and Stephanie, five brothers, Cayetano Aguilar and his wife, Barbara of Albuquerque, Filimon Aguilar and his wife, Alice of Bernalillo, Raymond Aguilar and his wife, Sylvia of Fountain Valley, CA, Edward Aguilar and his wife, Dorella of El Paso, TX and Leroy Aguilar and his friend, Algene of Bernalillo, two sisters, Mollie Navarro and her husband, Tony of Bernalillo and Jennie Sandoval and her husband, Gilbert of Jemez Springs, NM, sister-in-law, Antoniette García of Bernalillo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest M. García, parents, Filomeno and Bernardita Aguilar, brother, Hipolito Aguilar and sister, Mary Aguilar.
Rita was a life member of the Catholic Church. Rita retired from First State Bank of Bernalillo.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Virgil Furfaro and Father Antonio Mondragón celebrants. Interment will follow at Bernalillo Cemetery in Bernalillo, NM. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Navarro, Hipolito Aguilar Jr., Greg Aguilar, Ronald Aguilar, Gilbert Sandoval Jr., Matthew Aguilar and Paul Rostro. Honorary pallbearers will be O.J. Mora and Anthony P. Sánchez.
