PATRICK H. COLLINS SHOT

A Former Resident of Madison Probably Fatally Wounded.

Indianapolis, September 17--Patrick H. Collins, 60, shot himself today at the home of his sister, Minnie Reinhardt, 632 Union street, and probably will die. Collins has a son living in Madison.

He left his home at 705 St. Clair street, and went to the home of his sister about 9 o'clock. After he was there a few minutes he went to the bathroom and a shot was heard. He was found lying on the floor with a bullet through his temple and a 38 calibre revolver lying near.

His sister was frantic and was unable to give a motive for the apparent suicical attempt.

Mr. John Collins left on the afternoon train for Indianapolis in response to the message notifying him of his father's condition. Mr. Collins went to Indianapolis from Madison about thirty years ago and there he worked as a tailor. For several years he conducted a tailoring and repair shop in a house on First street, in the rear of the Madison hotel, in this city and he is well remembered by many of the other citizens here.
