Arnold S. Greene, 84, of Deep Gap, died Monday, February 1, 1999 in Boone.

He was born August 18, 1914, in Watauga County, to Clenard and Nannie Simmons Greene.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dennt Greene, a daughter, Dorthylene Brock, thrree sisters, Ora Smith, Cora Smith and Flora Greene, ans three brothers, Chilo, Luther and Zizzie Greene.

Mr. Greene was a retired finisher from American Drew Furniture Company in Lenoir and a member of Stony Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Goulds Greene, one son, three daughters, one brother, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Stony Fork Baptist Church in Deep Gap with the Reverends Vernon Eller, Jay Johnson, and Mike Barefoot officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Deep Gap.

Hampton Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
