Their last residence place in the Netherlands was Spijk, a country village in the former municipality Bierum, since 1990 part of mun. Delfzijl, province Groningen, and their destination was Bozeman, seat of Gallatin County, located in the southwestern part of Montana.
In 1900 black smith John (26) resided with his parents, farmer John (57) and Gertie Bos (53), and his siblings Henry (23, born in Holland, black smith), Alice (23, Holland), Anna (21, Holland), Clauzon (18, Holland, farm laborer), Adolph (16, New York) and Martha (13, Iowa) at Manhattan, Gallatin County, Montana.
On November 5, 1901 John Bos married in Manhattan at the age of 26 years the five years younger Jennie Van Dyken, also born in the Dutch province Groningen and residing at Manhattan too. Witnesses were their fathers John H Bos and Lambertus Van Dyken.
In 1920 John (44) and his wife Jennie (39) Boss and their children Grace (17), Lambertus (16), Agnes (13), Alice (11), Peter (9), Hanna (7), John H (6) and Johanna M (3) resided in Galatin County, Montana
In 1930 John (54) and his wife Jennie (49) and their children Bert (26), Peter (19), Hannah (17), John H (16), J Marjorie (13) and Martha (9) resided at West Gallatin, Gallatin County, Montana.
In June 1940 John Bos (64) resided with his wife Jennie (59) and their children Peter (29), John H J (26), Johanna M (23) and Martha (19) at the Dutch settlement Holland, later on called Amsterdam-Churchill, Gallatin County, Montana.
John died in June 1951 at the age of 75 years in Gallatin County, Montana. His widow Jennie died there a few months later, in December 1951, at the age of 71 years.
