He was born Adolf Bos in June 1885 in the country village of Spijk, located in the northeastern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen, son of iron smith Jan Bos and Grietje Siekman.

On April 19, 1893 Adolf Bos (7 years old), his father Jan Bos (laborer), siblings Jan (17), Aaltje (16), Klaas (13), Anna (9) and Martje (4) arrived on the SS Maasdam at the port of New York, Ellis Island. Their last residence place in the Netherlands was Spijk, a country village in the former municipality of Bierum, since 1990 part of mun. Delfzijl, located in the northeastern part of the province Groningen. Their destination was Bozeman, seat of Gallatin County, in the southwestern part of Montana.

In June 1900 Adolph Bos (15, born in June 1875 [has to be 1885] in New York [has to be Holland], his father John Bos (57, September 1842, Holland, immigrated in 1893, farmer), mother Gertie (53, April 1847, Holland, 1893, mother of 7 living children), siblings Henry (23, April 1877, Holland, 1893, black smith), John (25, July 1874, Holland, 1893, black smith), Alice (23, May 1877, Holland, 1893), Anna (20, October 1879, Holland), Clauzon (17, October 1882, Holland, 1893, farm laborer) and Martha (12, September 1887, Iowa [has to be Holland]) were living in Manhattan, Gallatin County, Montana.

Alolf Bos died in July 1900 at the age of 15 years of een horse accident in Manhattan, Gallatin County, Montana.
