Aaron served in the Union County Militia during the Revolution under Colonel Brandon. After moving to Hardin County, KY. where he appears in the 1809 tax list. He was a Captain of a company of men from Hardin County, Kentucky; part of a force of 2000 men under General Samuel Hopkins which crossed the Ohio against Indians in the War of 1812. Later when Governor Shelby issued a called for troops for the New Orleans campaign, three regiments of Kentucky Militia were organized under General John Thomas of Hardin County. Aaron Hart was Captain of the regiment's 6th company. Aaron Hart's twin brother Moses was on the roll of Captain Aaron Hart's company, Kentucky Detached Militia. The Captain was Aaron Hart and the Lieutenant was Moses Hart. It was commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel John Davis. Enroute to New Orleans the men floated down the Ohio and Mississippi on flatboats. They arrived at New Orleans a short time before January 8, 1815, taking part in the American victory at the Battle of New Orleans. He was appointed commisioner of Hardin County after the war and represented Hardin County in the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1817. In 1834 he made application to build a water grist mill on the Nolin River. Married to Mary King first, Mary Carson second.
