Mrs. Marjorie Combs Giddens, age 70, of Glen St. Mary, Fla., died Tuesday, July 3, 2001. Mrs. Giddens was a native and life long resident of Baker County, Fla. She was employed in the Dietary Department of both the Northeast Florida State Hospital for twenty-three years and the Baker County School Board for four years. She was of the Methodist faith. She was predeceased by her parents, Ivey C. and Ruth Prevatt Combs; brother, Paul Combs; grandchildren, Warren and Amanda Giddens.
Survivors include her husband, Heywood Giddens of Glen St. Mary, Fla.; sons, Mannie Giddens (Lettie) of Sanderson, Fla. and Joey Giddens (Linda) of Glen St. Mary, Fla.; sisters, Louise Thrift of Macclenny, Fla., Bernice Crawford and June Giddens, both of Glen St. Mary, Fla.; grandchildren, Tessy Davis (Derek) of Glen St. Mary, Fla., Tracee Crews (Tommy) of Macclenny, Fla. and Andy Giddens (Amanda) of Glen St. Mary, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Madyson Davis; special nephews, Larry Combs of Melbourne, Fla. and Tommy Combs of Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 6, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. in Taylor Church, Taylor, Fla. with Rev. Leslie Thomas and Rev. David Thomas officiating. Interment followed in the Taylor Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2001, in Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.
