Mr. Heywood C. Giddens, age 94, of Glen St. Mary, FL passed away Monday, January 9, in the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center, Macclenny, FL . Mr. Giddens was born in Nashville, GA on December 4, 1922 to the late Benjamin and Alda Giddens (Harold Cunningham). He was an Ironworker by trade and retired from the Ironworkers Union Local #597 after more than 33 years of service. He loved God, his family, farming and fellowship at the local Council on Aging. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny, FL and was a U.S. Navy Veteran in the later stages of WW II. Mr. Giddens is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 53 years, Marjorie Combs Giddens, grandchildren, Warren and Amanda Giddens, great granddaughter, Gracey Faith Crews, and brothers, Willard Bill and J.V. Giddens. He is survived by his two sons, Mannie Giddens (Lettie) of Sanderson, FL and Joey Giddens (Linda) of Glen St. Mary, FL: Three grandchildren, Tessy Davis (Derek) , Andy Giddens ( Dana), and Tracey Crews (Tommy):Eight great grandchildren, Madyson and Marah Davis, Tucker Crews, Bryson Brady, Grace Brady, Avery Giddens, Garrett Brady, and Ashton Giddens also survive. Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Giddens will be held at 1 P.M., Thursday, January 12 at Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny, FL with Rev. David Thomas and Rev. Tim Thomas, Pastors, officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be held from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, January 11, at the church. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, FL.
