Alberta Achterhof, 96, of Holland, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, in a local care facility. She was a member of Community Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1968; a son, John, in 1986; grandsons, Jack Vanden Bosch and Glenn Walters; and a great-great-granddaughter, Jenna An Walters. She is survived by her daughters, Ann and Austin Walters of Holland, and Sylvia and Corwin Vanden Bosch of Ewin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Gretchen Gebben of Hudsonville, and Florence Justine of Zeeland. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at the Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St., with the Rev. Jim Beltman officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Gideons.
