Funeral services for Marie Aamodt, longtime Winnebago couney resident were held Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Leland with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Marlin Nolte was organist the services. Pall bearers were Carl Alm, Keith Farland, Arnold Gregerson, Charles Hermanson, Herbert Holland, and Don Solomonson. Burial was in Forest Home cemetery in Leland with the Mittelstadt funera home handling arrangements.
I Miss Aamodt, 90, died Dec. 28 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Born May 2, 1887, on a farm near Leland, Marie Aamodt was the daµghter of Ambrose and Anlaug (Ellefson) Aamodt. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, was a life-long member of OUr Savior's Lutheran church and an assoiate member of Salem Lutheran church in Lake Mills.
She attended country school near Leland and worked for a time at the Sµmit Hotel and other places in Forest City. She then went to Minneapolis where she worked in a millinery
shop for many years. In 1951, she returned to Lake Mills where she and her sister Tillie opened a millinary shop which they operated until they retired in 1963. She lived in Lake Mills until she moved to Leland in 1973. Miss Aamodt entered the Good Samaritan Center in September due to ill health.
Survivors include several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
