Gust A. Aamodt, 84, Dies Christmas Day Following Illness
Gust A. Aamodt, lifeiong resident of Leland, died Sunday at Forest City hospital following a lingering illness. He was 84 years old at the time of his death. He was born August 12, 1876 on a farm south of Leland. At the age of four, he moved with his parents to the family farm north of Leland where he made his home until the time of his death.
He was confirmed Oct. 25, 1890 by Pastor Smedal and remained a lifelong member of the Lutheran church.
Surviving are four sisters,Tillie and Marie of Lake Mills,
Julia and Anna at home. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in
death.
Funeral services were heid 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Leland with Pastor Robert Fitzgerald officiating. Mrs. Conrad Carlson of Lake Mills was soloist and Mrs. Lloyd Thorsheim of Leland was organist.
Pallbearers were Charles Hermanson, Herman Farland, Conrad Carlson, Herbert Holland, Christian Charlson and Arnold Ambroson. Burial was in Forest Home cemetery at Leland. Hanson Funeral service was in charge.
