Willie Mae Beck Grubb, 83, of N.C. Highway 150 South, Lexington, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Lexington by the Revs. Howard Baker and Shay Gaillard. Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Grubb was born April 10, 1926, in Davidson County to Thomas Lindsay Beck and Mary Elizabeth Snider Beck. She was a former employee of Norman's of Salisbury and a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by four brothers, George Frank Beck, Claude Beck, Fred Beck and Arthur "John" Beck, and two sisters, Tessie Beck Michael and Minnie Beck Carter.
Surviving are her husband, H. Leo Grubb of the home; two sons, Tom Grubb and his wife, Elaine, of Fayetteville, and Joe Grubb and his wife, Wanda, of Lexington; a daughter, Teresa Lynch and her husband, Rivers, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five grandchildren, Tara Lynch Gaillard and her husband, Shay, of Charleston, S.C., Te-Anne Lynch Cahill and her husband, John, of Conway, S.C., Tai Elizabeth Lynch of Charleston, S.C., Taylor Lynch Jeffcoat and her husband, Brandon, of Columbia, S.C., and Justin Daniel Grubb of Nashville, Tenn.; 10 great-children, Ann Claire Gaillard, Mary Foster Gaillard, Eliza Gaillard, Cate Gaillard, John Edward Cahill III, Rivers Beck Cahill, Nolan McGahan Cahill, Foster Flynn Cahill, Caleb Thomas Cahill and Braydon Foster Jeffcoat; a brother, Charlie L. Beck of Lexington; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Pless Hall at St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
