Mr. John W. Erickson passed away at the St. Croix Falls Hospital Wednesday evening, Feb 14. He was 65 years, 5 months, and 17 days of age. Mr. Erickson has been ailing for some time with a weak heart and complications with pneumonia, which made him steadily weaker with the passing of time.

He was born on Aug 27, 1879 and lived the first 31 years of his life in and around Riley County in the State of Kansas. On Sept 4, 1907 he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Franson and to this union were born eight children. In 1914 the family left Kansas with their three oldest living children and moved to Backus, MN where the four youngest children were born.

On March 15, 1929, Mr. Erickson was united in marriage to Mrs. Alice Vaerst of Center City. Following this, Mr. and Mrs. Erickson lived on the Eastlund farm at Little Lake, until two years ago when they retired and moved to Russell Beach, Chisago City. Mr. Erickson was confirmed in one of the Methodist Churches of Kansas and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Lindstrom.

He leaves to mourn his passing; his wife, Alice and the following children: Mrs. Thomas Doyle (Elsie) of Doyle, Kansas, Gilbert of Harriman, TN, Howard of Taylors Falls; Mrs. George Akerson of Shafer; Mrs. Ralph Heidler of Altoona, PA; Mrs. Leslie Racey of Leonrdsville, KS, Corporal Donald, serving with the Signal Corp of the ninth Army in Europe, two stepdaughters: Mrs. Gilbert Erickson of Harriman and Valeta at home. Eighteen grandchildren also remain as well as a brother and sister, August Erickson of Clay Center, KS and Mrs. John Lind of Green, KS, as well as a host of relatives and friends who mourn the passing of this faithful man.

May God hallow his eternal existence that we may come well prepared to meet our Creator and Redeemer.

Marlen Johnson officiating and Norman Bohleen singing two solos: “Jesus Saviour, Pilot Me.” and “Rock of Agnes.” Services were held on Monday, Feb 19at 2:00 and interment followed at Fairview Cemetery at Lindstrom
