The story goes that Willie, the oldest Godwin brother, died in an accidental fall when he was between six and eleven months old. About 1970, his sister Effie said that a babysitter dropped him. In 2004, his sister Ruby insisted that his name was Willie and not William, and his sister Effie agreed. He is the only one of Frances's nine children to die young.

Gravesite Details

The location of his grave is unknown. The Godwin family plot at Riverside was not established until 1919 and he's not listed in the cemeteries of churches the Cannon and Godwin families attended.
