Penny Peavy-Hewitt
Penny Sue Peavy-Hewitt, 58, of Bedford, Ky., died Friday Sept. 15, 2006, at Baptist Hospital Northeast.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 9 Women's Auxiliary and the Bedford Christian Church. She was a gifted gardener and was well-known for her beautiful roses. She also was a NASCAR fan.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Brown Hewitt; two sons, John Peavy and Steven Scott Hewitt, both of Bedford; one daughter, Janell Reynolds of Tucson, Ariz.; her parents, Charles and Violet Persell of Bedford, Ky.; one brother, Ken Persell of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Pam Welsh and Peggy Powell, both of Bedford, Ky., and Patsy Bargo of Louisville; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
