Michael Schoenberg was born January 1, 1870 in Millerville, Douglas County, Minn to Peter A and Anna Marie (Koenig) Schoenberg. He was the couples 6th of their 14 children.

The Peter & Anna Schoenberg family moved from Millerville, Minn to Washington (via train) in 1884. They homesteaded in an area called Spring Valley - approx 6 miles north of Spokane, WA.

When Michael Schoenberg was 23 years old, married Helena "Lena" Smith on November 30, 1893 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spokane Falls, Wash. Fr. Barnabas Held, OSB officiated the marriage ceremony.

Mike & Lena Schoenberg had four children:

- George 1895-1897
- Edward 1898
- Verna 1904
- Margaret 1914

Michael Schoenberg died on March 29, 1957. The funeral mass was in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hillyard, Spokane County, Wash. Burial is in Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane County, Wash.

Nine weeks after his death, Mike Schoenberg's wife, Lena Smith Schoenberg, died on June 7, 1957. She is buried next to her husband in Holy Cross Cemetery.
