Emma Louise Meckenstock, the daughter of Julius and Johanna Meckenstock, was born November 14, 1892, near Cuba, Kansas and departed this life on August 30, 1949, at her home near Haddam, Kansas, at the age of 56 years, 9 months and 16 days.

Emma was united in marriage to Clarence J. Olson on June 8, 1916 at the home of her parents at Clyde, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Olson moved to Denver, Colorado in 1918 where they made their home for twenty-nine years. They moved to their farm southeast of Haddam in 1947 and lived there until her death.

Her mother and father and one brother preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Eastern Star Temple Chapter No. 96 of Denver, Colorado and attended the Methodist Church.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Clarence J. Olson; one brother, Otto C. Mechenstock of Kirwin, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Hammer of Clifton, Kansas and Hulda Meckenstock of Belleville, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She had a loving disposition and a sunny smile for everyone she met. She was a great lover of music and gave much of her time to musical entertainment. This loving wife will be greatly missed by her husband, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Ward Funeral Home in Washington, Friday afternoon with the Rev. Leslie Toburen officiating. The Eastern Star Chapter of Washington had charge of the graveside service and interment was made in the Rock cemetery.
