Born April 7, 1891, in Hill Valley, Shirley Township, she was a daughter of Henry and Sarah (Bard) Dell. She was united in marriage to Benjamin A. Secrest of Cromwell Township on April 16, 1908 by Justice of the Peace John D. Crotsley of Saltillo. Her husband preceded her in death October 7, 1963.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Roy (Esther) Cohenour, Mount Union; George H. Secrest, Mill Creek; Mrs. John (Ella) Welch, Mount Union R.D.; Mrs. Charles (Sarah) Rummel, Somerset; Mrs. Raymond (Blanche) Jenkins, Roxbury; Benjamin J. Secret, Atlanta, Ga.; Bruce A. Secrest, Mount Union R.D. and Mrs George (Beulah) Drake, Mount Union R.D. A grandson, Anthony Secrest was reared in the home.
One son preceded her in death. Surviving are 32 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Park, Mapleton Depot R.D.
The deceased was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren at Sugar Run. She belonged to the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, at 2 p.m. from the Ott funeral home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Albert M. Haught, pastor of the Sugar Run Church of the Brethren will officiate. Interment will be made in the Stone Church Cemetery at Germany Valley. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until the hour of the services on Saturday.
