Kate was a woman of fine tastes, her grandchildren have said. She lost her mother when she was too young to remember, and ended up being raised by her Aunt and Uncle Joe and Emily Dennis, who were rather well off. Kate then married Dr. Samuel Graham Rogers and they did very well. NOTE: Despite doing well economically when she was younger, the family struggled during the depression and no headstone was placed next to Dr. Samuel Rogers and Kate's son Joseph Thomas Rogers when she was buried there, but she is located adjacent to Dr. Rogers' stone.
