"John Crippen, son of Jabez and Thankful Fuller. John was born in Colchester in 1720. He married in Sharon to Mary Richmond during 1741. They lived in Sharon (probably farmed out in Crippentown area) and also farmed in Nine Partners. He died in Weston in 1776 at age 56. In so many of the family records and in the information I found in Hartford, he is often referred to as "The Soldier Of Alford". This probably refers to his service in the local militia."
