Jabez Grippen/Crippen

Jabez Crippen is the son of Thomas Crippen and Frances Bray. Jabez married Thankful Fuller 9 Jul 1707 Colchester, New London, Ct
Everyone says he died in 1785 and that would make him 105 when he died. Is the 1785 death date really for him or is there another generation. We do know that he was alive in 1760 when he was made Lt and was living in Amenia, NY. So we know that he died after 1760.
Went to Sharon, Ct in 1740 an orginal proprietor. and Amenia and Crippentown could be the same town. Before that he was in East Haddam and Colchester, where he sold land to John Olmstead 6 Jun 1739. Death date can not be verified according to Edward Fuller book. Was supposed to have died in Manchester Co, Vt, but no Probate records have been found in Bennington Vt, Dutchess Co, NY or Conneticut.

Children: Susanna(21 May 1708), Francis (26 Jun 1710), Lydia (17 Mar 1713), Thomas(15 May 1715), Jabez(20 Mar 1717), John(20 Mar 1720), Mehitabel(6 Jul 1722), Samuel(7 Jul 1724), Joseph (7 Jun 1726), Thankful(2 Apr 1728).

Virkus states that Jabez was from Clochester, CT, moved to Amenia, NY and later to Manchester, VT. The History of the Town of Sharon repeats this with the additional notation that Jabez died about 1785.
