FORT ANN ~ Col. James Farr died on the 2d inst., in the seventy-sixth year of his age. Col. Farr was one of the oldest and most respected citizens of his native town. He had held the office of Supervisor several terms, and represented his district in the Assembly of 1850-51.
A man of influence, his efforts were always directed in behalf of good and true principles. Having by prudence and industry acquired a considerable fortune, he spent his last and declining years, though afflicted with the failure of sight, in the peaceful retirement of a comfortable home and in the bosom of his family.
