BEALS – Esten Lesley Beal Jr., 88, died at Marshall Nursing Home in Machias. He was the son of the late Esten Sr. and Calista (Alley) Beal. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942 to fight for his country in World War II. After the war, he returned home and started his living on the ocean.
He is survived by Patricia R. Beal of Beals; a brother, Elmer and wife, Marion Beal and many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his former wife Willavie (Lenfestey)Beal; three sisters, Myrtle and husband Farrell Lenfestey, Fannie and husband Ellis Bishop, and Susie and husband, Leon Johnson; and a brother, Charles and wife, Leila Beal.
At Elmer's request there will be no visiting hours and burial will be held at a later date in Beals Village Cemetery.
