Emma's father was Churchwell M. Jennings, a Confederate soldier who died as a POW in Elmira, NY in 1865, her mother is Louisa Campbell Jennings Felts Anthony, who married Jacob Anthony in 1870. Emma was a sister to Richard,s first wife Julia. After Julia died Emma married Richard on 25 MAR 1886 in Hagers Grove, Shelby County, Missouri.

Note: Emma and Julia used the last name Anthony (of there step-father) and is found in some census, marriage and other records as Julia and Emma Anthony.

Emily Elizabeth Anthony Vickers, was born September 3rd, 1861 in Virginia, died at the St. Mary's hospital in Quincy, January 29th, 1911.
She was married to Richard Vickers in March 1885. To this union eight children were born, three boys and five girls all of whom were present, but one little girl who died in infancy. Besides her husband and children she leaves two brothers and three sisters. She was baptized in the Catholic faith in early life.
The funeral was conducted at the Hagers Grove Christian church Jan. 30th conducted by R.B. Havener.

Mrs. Emma Vickers died at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy Sunday morning. She was taken to the hospital from her home near Hagers Grove, suffering from a complication of diseases which resulted in her death, after an illness of four months.
Mrs. Vickers is survived by her husband and seven children. She was the mother of Robert Vickers, who was married on New Year's day to Miss Addie Maupin, the unfortunate young woman who became demented shortly after her marriage, as told at the time in the Torchlight.
The remains were taken to Clarence and from there to Hagers Grove for burial.
