Theodore V. Schwartz, 100 years old, of Aurora, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 23, 1997. He was born on February 11, 1897 in Aurora.

Theodore has been a lifetime resident of Aurora and a member of St. Nicholas Church.

On November 19, 1919, he was united in marriage to Helen M. Reiland at St. Nicholas Church, and they enjoyed 76 years of married life.

He was the oldest member of the American Independent Luxembourg Club of Aurora, an honorary member of the Western Catholic Union and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

He retired from Stephens-Adamson Mfg. Co. in 1967. Since his retirement, he enjoyed spending his time with his family. He took great pleasure in his 100th birthday celebration.

Theodore took loving care of his wife until her death and continued to live an independent life in his home until he passed away.

Survivors include his two daughters, Elvera (Howard) Feltes of Aurora and Nancy (Cyril) Sherman of Maple Park; his grandchildren, Timothy (Karla) Feltes, Sarah (John) Stride, Thomas (Jennifer) Feltes, Richard (Sharon) Sherman, Denise (John) Petty, Debra (Victor) Cotto, Kimberly (Edward) Brengman, Theresa Sherman and Mariette (Mark) Kadlec; 22 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two nephews; two nieces and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Schwartz (Reiland) on June 20, 1996; his parents, Henry and Mary (Ludwig) Schwartz; two grandchildren, Robert Theodore Sherman in infancy and Pamela Margaret Feltes in 1988; one sister, Christine Buckley; six brothers, John, Henry, Mathias, Peter, Nicholas and Joseph and two sisters in infancy.

A special thank you to Tony and Irma Martinez and children for their friendship and kindness over the years.

Thank you also to the VNA Hospice.

Funeral from the Daleiden Lake Street Mortuary on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. to St. Nicholas Church at 10 a.m. Fr. David Engbarth will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery.

Visitation at the Daleiden Lake Street Mortuary. 220 N. Lake St. Aurora on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Marywood Cemetery.
