DALHART — Minnie Merle Wilson, 81, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, in Dalhart.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Dalhart. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart with the Rev Rusty Hancock, pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church, and the Rev. Bob McAlister, retired baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart.

Minnie Merle Johnson was born in Leonia, Florida., on Oct. 25, 1929, to Timothy Titus "T.T." and Jessie (Miller) Johnson.

Merle married Bobby C. Wilson at her parent's home in Geneva, Geneva Co. Alabama, on July 7 1951.

Bob and Merle moved to Dalhart after his discharge from the Air Force in January 1952. She was a homemaker and active in Lincoln Street Baptist Church for many years. She and Bob raised their 4 children in Dalhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth; and a son, Tim.

Survivors include her husband, Bob of Dalhart; daughters, Jessie Snodgrass and husband Mike of Saginaw and Sue Meyer and husband Daniel of Dalhart; and a son, Keith Wilson and wife Janet of Dalhart; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Frank Johnson of Geneva and J.C. Johnson of Ozark, Ala.; two sisters, Arvella Blackmon of Abbeville, Ala., and Thelma Kirkland of Montgomery, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Lincoln Street Baptist Feeding Programs, P.O. Box 669, Dalhart, TX 79022.
