William R Cook, 66 yrs old, died Tuesday afternoon following an extended illness Mr. Cook was a member of the Middleboro Methodist Church and a veteran of World War 1. He was a life long resident of Wayne County.

Survivors include the widow Coral; one son, Elvin of Middleboro; a daughter Mrs. Tron Bailey of Middleboro; five grand-daughters, several nieces and nephews Services will be held at 1;30 pm at the Stegall-Berheide-Orr funeral home in Richmond. Rev. Paul Flowers of Middleboro Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9pm on Friday

William married Coral on 17 Aug 1920. He lived in Middleboro, Indiana. William was employed as a baker in the 1930's and by Wayne Body Works starting in the 1940's. In the early 1960's he ran a bait shop next door to his home, and spent time with his grandchildren hunting for crawdads in the Whitewater River.

William was fondly referred to as "Bappy" by his grandchildren, and would walk them to Joe's Market in Middleboro, as a treat to get some penny candy.

William was a bit of a rebel and had a tatoo on his right arm.
