Obituary in The Bienville Democrat October 24, 1940:

Funeral services for Robert G. Tooke, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jewel Robinson in Homer on October 10th, were held Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Gibsland. Rev. D.B. Boddie, pastor of the Gibsland Methodist Church and Rev. Giles, pastor of the Homer Methodist Church conducted the services. Interment was in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Conger Funeral Home of Arcadia. Pallbearers were L.M. White, Harry Plaster, Ruel Coleman, Sam Jones, W.T. Thurmond, and Ben Robinson. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. O.L. Kidd, Melton Robinson, U.P. Colbert, D.S. Craighead, L.T. Pitts, and C.B. Johnson.

Mrs. Tooke was a life long resident of Bienville Parish and lived for many years at Mt. Lebanon, where he was preceded in death by his wife several years ago. The church was filled with sorrowing friends and relatives and the numerous beautiful floral offering was evidence of his many friends.

Deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Leo Wall and Miss Caroline Tooke of Alexandria, Mrs. Jewel Robinson of Homer, and Miss Nelwyn Tooke of Shreveport; two grandsons; and one brother, L.M. Tooke of Shreveport.
