Graveside services for Mrs. Bernice Humphrey, 98, of the Cordell Christian Home, in Cordell, OK, were held at the Page Cemetery southwest of Foss with the Rev. W. H. Heath officiating. Mrs. Humphrey passed fron this life at the Clinton Regional Hospital in Clinton, OK.

The daughter of Jacob and Emily (Latimer) Bowers, she came to Oklahoma in 1901 in a covered wagon to the Foss area in Indian Territory. She was married to Toney P. Humphrey on Dec. 27, 1925 at Foss.

Bernice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Foss, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She had been a resident of the Cordell Christian Home since 1982.

Survivors include a son, Willard Jacob Humphrey and his wife Janet of Pequanock, N. J.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Sylvia) Maloy of Foss and Mary Emily Shinn of Oklahoma City, OK; 8 grandchilden; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Maurice, four brothers and a sister.

Interment was under the direction of the Kern-Schneider-Kiesau Funeral Home of Clinton.
