Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Smith McDade, age 90 years, were held at the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery last Friday morning. Mrs. McDade died at the home of her niece Mrs. Will Wood in Monroe, where she had made her home for several years. She was the daughter of Major and Mrs. Jesse Smith, pioneer settlers of Mt. Lebanon community.
Surviving relatives include: one brother, J.B. Smith of Montgomery, and a number of nieces and nephews, among them, Mrs. Will Wood, Mrs. Grady Thompson, both of Monroe; Miss Alma Levins and Mrs. Georgia Leary Crane of Shreveport, Mrs. Mattie Crutsinger of Minden, Mrs. D.A. Woodard of Arcadia, Mrs. Melton Courtney of Mt. Lebanon, Miss Mattie Levins of Homer, Dr. R.E. Smith of Minden, J.B. Smith of Heflin, Dr. Morgan Smith of Crowley, Carter Smith and Walker Smith of Lakes Charles.
