Obituary in The Bienville Democrat December 15, 1932:
Mt. Lebanon: Universal sorrow is felt by the people of Mt. Lebanon and this entire section at the death of Mrs. A.F. Levins, one of our best known and best beloved women, who died at her home here Friday morning, Dec. 2nd. Mrs. Levins was a member of the Smith family, one of the oldest and most prominent in north Louisiana and pioneer residents of Mt. Lebanon. Mrs. Levins was a woman of high character and wide influence and was deeply interested in the welfare of this community. She was probably the best informed living person on the early history of Mt. Lebanon and was of the strongest factors in securing the highway park now being constructed here.
Besides her husband, she leaves six daughters: Mrs. Willis of Doyline, Mrs. Pace of Heflin, Mrs. Thompson of Monroe, Mrs. Melton Courtney of Mt. Lebanon, and Misses Alma and Mattie Levins, teachers in the high schools of Greenwood and Homer; also two brothers, Dr. R.W. Smith of Dubberly and Mr. Byrant Smith of Montgomery La.; and a sister, Mrs. George McDade of Dubberly.
