Wesley J. Aagard 1915 ~ 2005
Wesley J. Aagard, age 89, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 in Sandy, Utah.
Wesley was born May 31, 1915 in Fountain Green, Utah to John and Mary Ellen (Ostler) Aagard. He married Voneal Anderson on September 14, 1937 in the Manti LDS Temple.
First and foremost, Wesley was a sheepman; as was his father and his father before him. He often said he could not have had a better life. For him, ranching WAS his life. Wesley was past-president of the Woolgrower's Association where he received the Lifetime Sheepman award. He was well known among his friends and family for his quick wit and humor.
Wesley is survived by his children: Carolyn (Gary) Gottfredson, Martha (Don) Sutherland, Alice (Michael) Garcia; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; twin brother, Welby Aagard; sister, Kenna Rassmussen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Voneal; son, Wesley Gene Aagard; infant daughter, Mary Lou Aagard; brothers, Burnell, John, Vance; sisters, Lapreal, Hazel, Laurel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan 29, 2005, at 12:00 noon at the Fountain Green LDS Ward, 151 South 200 West, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Fountain Green City Cemetery. His daughters wish to thank Beehive Gardens at Willow Creek for all their love and care.
