Brief biography from contributor Joan (Wyatt) Bradley (#32926924):
Henry Walter Blanchard was born 1855 in Princeton, Illinois to Henry C. Blanchard and wife, Mary E. Albertson. He left Illinois and lived in both Colorado and Kansas before Henry finally ended up in Lebanon, Laclede County, Missouri. There in 1899 he took a second wife, a widow, Hattie W. Hicks, who had lost two previous spouses and had children with each. Henry and Hattie had five more children together between 1901 and 1909.
The family moved to Joplin, Missouri before 1910 and he became an operator in the lead and zinc mines, a business booming at that time. They stayed there for about ten years before moving on to Pike, Carter County, Missouri where he was working in mining in 1920. At the time of Henry's death, he had been living in Midko, Oklahoma and working there as a fireman for Midko Iron Company. Henry died of heart disease in December 1920 in a Springfield, Missouri hospital, but was taken back to Joplin for burial with his parent.
