Regimental Commisary/Subsistence Officer (Captain), 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry. Enlisted on December 1, 1862. Discharged by Special Order No. 152, Headquarters Department of West Virginia on July 21, 1865 at Cumberland, Maryland.

Lived in Chillicothe, Missouri after the war. Died suddenly during a business trip to Saginaw Michigan. Also lived in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Invented and held several patents for a mechanical washing machine. Filed for a pension on June 8, 1891, application number 1,028,999, certificate 813,136. Wife Ella L. Beazell filed for a widow's pension on June 25, 1897, application number 657,706, certificate 459,935.
