Lilley Co. Manager Dies in 84th Year - James M. Van Patten, former department manager for the Lilley Co.., regalia manufacturers at 293 East Long street, and connected with that company 39 years until his retirement three years ago, died Thursday afternoon at his home, 196 West Fourth avenue. He was 84 years old and his death was a result of infirmities of his advanced years.
Funeral service will be held at the residence at 3 p. m. Friday under auspices of Mt.. Vernon Commandery, Knights Templar, of which the deceased was a member. Rev. F. G. Coffin, pastor of the Congregational Christian Federated church, af which Mr. Van Patten also was a member, will officiate. The remain will be sent to Little Rock, Ark., Saturday, by Denton and Donaldson, for additional services and burial.
Mrs. Mary E Van Patten, his wife; a stepson, H. J. Ives of 174 South Terrace Ave; a stepdaughter, Mrs. S. F. Sullivan, of Little Rock; three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Kate Cooper, Springfield, Ill., survive.
Mr. Van Patten was also a member of Magnolia lodge, F. & A. M., Loraine Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and the Scottish Rite. (spelling/grammatical errors left uncorrected-lai)
